Two Group Exhibits!

It is an embarrassment of group exhibit riches this month.

(I hate being braggy, but here it goes! Gulp…..

(It was such an insult when I was in grade school to say that someone was being “braggy.” Now it’s just SELF-PROMOTION.)

The truth is it is an amazing honor to be able to not only show my photography, but show it along side artists and photographers that I admire and respect. It’s incredible.)

I have three images currently on display at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center as part of the Replenish Art Exhibition and Auction. Proceeds benefit Grow the Flow, an organization dedicated to the health of Great Salt Lake by “harnessing the political and public will to restore Great Salt Lake by empowering citizens, identifying non-partisan solutions, and leading collaborative efforts with NGOs, the private sector, community members, institutions, and government leaders to get water to the Lake.”

You can currently see the Replenish Exhibition in person during Utah Cultural Celebration Center’s business hours. Today thru April 10, go see art, go bid on art, benefit Great Salt Lake!!!  I saw some of the art when I dropped my photos off, and it is GORGEOUS work in real life! Go check it out!

“Into the Blue” up for auction! Bid on art, save the Great Salt Lake!

I also have three images as part of the “Water” themed Wasatch Camera Club group show at Red Butte Gardens. You can see these images any time during Red Butte’s business hours. The show opens tomorrow, March 8, and runs through April 8. I’ll be at the opening tomorrow for a bit, between 4-5, so come say HI. There are so many talented photographers in the club, and I hope you can check out this exhibit!

It is an honor to be able to share my photography, but especially when the subject is Great Salt Lake. This big saline lake is such a unique part of our world, so many birds (10-12 million, but who is counting?) depend on the lake and it’s wetlands for migration, feeding, breeding, etc. Our snow, our clean air, depend on a healthy Great Salt Lake. Last year I heard Terry Tempest Williams pose a question about Great Salt Lake, “Who will forgive us if we do nothing?” and I never stop thinking about it. Taking and sharing photographs, trying to make someone see something amazing and care about it, perhaps move someone else to visit, or donate to lake facing groups, or even inspiring someone afar to appreciate the natural world where they are, is literally the least I can do.
